Abstract

The invention provides a method for address allocation of public networks, which comprises that a carrier-grade network (CGN) address translation device receives online messages of users and judges whether idle public network addresses exist in a public network address pool; if no idle public network address exists in the public network address pool or the quantity of the idle public network addresses is less than that of a presupposed threshold value of the idle public network addresses, the CGN device constructs and sends dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) requests to a DHCP server to apply for a public network address set; and the CGN device allocates a first public network address in the public network address set to the users. The invention further discloses a device and system for address allocation of public networks. According to the method, the device and a system for address allocation of public networks, unified management and allocation of public network addresses of the CGN device can be achieved and the utilization rate of the public network addresses of the CGN device can be improved so as to avoid waste of public network addresses.
