Problems solved by technology

Furthermore, peeling occurs near the front end of the rib 113, and a vortex is generated from the front end to the back of the rib 113, so the ventilation resistance in the passage increases.
Therefore, in the conventional cooling system, there is a problem that the cooling air cannot be blown out efficiently, and there is also a problem that the noise becomes louder.

Embodiment Construction

[0056] Hereinafter, a liquid crystal projector according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described.

[0057] A liquid crystal projector according to an embodiment of the present invention such as figure 1 The schematic configuration shown is a three-panel liquid crystal projector using liquid crystal display panels for red, green, and blue light as a light modulation device, and an optical system described below is accommodated in an exterior case 1 .

[0058] This optical system includes: an illumination optical system 10 that emits parallel white light, a color separation optical system 20 that separates the light beam emitted from the illumination optical system 10 into a plurality of color light beams, and a light beam that optically modulates each color light beam according to image information. The modulation device 30, the color synthesis device 40 for combining the modulated light beams of various colors, and the projection lens 50 for projecting the...

Abstract

An LCD projector including liquid crystal light valves, a duct, and nozzles. Each liquid crystal light valve includes optical components. Cooling air flows through the duct to cool the optical components of each liquid crystal light valve. The nozzles are arranged in correspondence with the liquid crystal light valves (30B) and blow the cooling air from the duct toward the optical components of the corresponding liquid crystal light valves (30B). At least one nozzle (70B) includes an inlet (75), which is in communication with the duct (60), and an outlet (76), from which the cooling air from the inlet is blown out. The outlet has a width in a direction orthogonal to an optical axis of light that is set so that a blowing range of the cooling air is selected for each optical component in the corresponding liquid crystal light valve.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a liquid crystal projector, in particular to a cooling system for cooling a liquid crystal light valve with cooling air. Background technique [0002] Conventionally, there is known a liquid crystal projector that magnifies and projects an image formed by a liquid crystal light valve on a screen through a projection lens. A representative product of this type of liquid crystal projector is a so-called three-panel liquid crystal projector that uses transmissive liquid crystal light valves for each color of red, green, and blue to display color images. Also, conventionally, various cooling systems for cooling optical components constituting a liquid crystal light valve have been proposed for such a three-plate liquid crystal projector, as disclosed in, for example, Patent Document 1, Patent Document 2, and Patent Document 3. [0003] These cooling systems generally include a cooling fan for generating cooling air, a duct for sen...
