Abstract

The invention discloses a beaker, relates to an apparatus for a chemical experiment, and aims to provide a beaker which can be tightly covered and is convenient to hold and heat. The beaker comprises a beaker body; the upper edge of a notch on the upper edge of the beaker body is in the same plane with the upper edge of the beaker body; a handle is arranged on an outer wall of one side, opposite to the notch, of the beaker body; and the bottom of the beaker body is an inward-sinking arc bottom surface. Compared with the prior art, the beaker disclosed by the invention has the following advantages: (1) as the upper edge of the notch on the beaker body is in the same plane with the upper edge of the beaker body, the beaker can be tightly covered conveniently with sheet glass and the like so as to avoid loss caused when a volatile substance is contained in the beaker; (2) the beaker is more convenient to hold due to the handle; and (3) the heating area can be increased by the arc bottom surface so as to facilitate quick heating and prevent liquid splash in certain chemical reactions.
