Problems solved by technology

[0004] From the above introduction, it can be seen that in the prior art, the VM determines which MS will provide the forwarding service, and the VC cannot determine the specific MS that performs the forwarding task.
If the VM chooses a far-distance MS to provide services to the VC, the bandwidth of the intermediate link will be greatly occupied, resulting in a great waste of network resources.
[0005] like figure 1 As shown, the forwarding service provided by MS1 to VC1, VC2 and VC3, compared with the forwarding service provided by MS2 to VC1, VC2 and VC3, will occupy more links between switch 2 and switch 3

Embodiment 1

[0040] The embodiment adopts the above-mentioned first method to obtain the number of hops between each VC and each MS in the managed area, and after the VM receives the request of the VC on-demand camera, it judges whether the streaming media data of the camera requested by the VC is being forwarded by the MS, if If there is an MS that is forwarding, the forwarding MS will provide the forwarding service to the VC. If there is no MS that is forwarding the requested camera streaming data, then search for an MS with the least number of hops to the current VC according to the acquired content. see Figure 4 , Figure 4 It is a flowchart of a method in Embodiment 1 of the present invention.

[0041] In step 401, the VM sends a keep-alive message to each VC in the managed area, which carries the information of each MS in the managed area, and the information of the MS includes at least the ID of the MS and the address information of the MS.

[0042] In step 402, the VC that recei...

Embodiment 2

[0055] Embodiment 2 Use the above-mentioned second method to obtain the number of hops between each VC and each MS in the managed area, and after the VM finds an MS with the least number of hops with the current VC, it further judges whether there is currently a camera where the MS is forwarding the VC request Streaming media data, if there is an MS that is forwarding, then judge whether the MS that is performing the forwarding operation is the MS with the least number of hops found, if yes, instruct the MS to forward the camera streaming data to the requested VC , if not, instruct the forwarding MS to forward the stream media data to the found MS with the least hops, and then forward the streaming media data to the requested VC by the MS with the least hops. If no MS is currently forwarding the streaming media data of the camera requested by the VC, the currently found MS with the least number of hops will receive the streaming media data from the camera, and then forward it t...

Abstract

The invention discloses a method of sending streaming media data and a virtual manager (VM), wherein a media server (MS) is chosen by acquiring the hop counts between MSs and virtual clients (VC) in order to provide a service of transmitting the streaming media data; and the hop count between the MS and the VC is the minimum. The network bandwidth is saved furthest; and the bandwidth pressure from decoders (EC) to the MSs and the business pressure of the ECs are reduced through the technical scheme which is provided by the invention.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to streaming media technology, in particular to a method for sending streaming media data and a virtual manager. Background technique [0002] In a complete multimedia network, users usually deploy media servers (MS, MediaServer) to replicate and distribute media streams. The main role of MS is to save network bandwidth, reduce the forwarding pressure of network equipment, and provide multicast-like services for environments that do not support multicast, which is easy to manage. In a large multimedia network, users will deploy multiple MSs to provide media stream replication services. The network structure can be as follows: figure 1 As shown, it specifically includes: decoder (EC), virtual manager (VM, Virtual Manager), MS, switch and virtual client (VC, Virtual Client). [0003] The VM pre-configures the MS responsible for forwarding its streaming media data for each EC. After receiving the request from the VC, it finds the c...
