The method comprise the following steps: firstly, acquiring A-interface signaling from a GSM (global system for mobile communication) network, generating a CDR (call detail record) through the collection, decoding and correlation analysis by virtue of a server, and adding the CDR to a signaling database; secondly, carrying out correlation analysis on the information in the signaling database so as to obtain statistic analysis results, screening out ping-pong handover cell pairs according to the results, thus obtaining a list of ping-pong handover cells; and finally, ranking the ping-pong handover cells in the list according to the generation times of ping-pong handover, and positioning the locations and areas of the ping-pong handover cells. According to the method, through the analysis on relevant signaling data information during communication, the conditions of ping-pong handover and the cells at which handover practically happens are obtained through statistics, therefore, an operator can timely get information about the conditions of a mobile communication network, the fast positioning of ping-pong handover by network optimization personnel is facilitated, and the optimization efficiency is improved.
