Abstract

The invention relates to a new application of compound, in particular to the application of nordihydroguaiaretic acid in preparing drug capable of resisting tumour stem cells. The nordihydroguaiaretic acid inhibits the activity of arachidonic acid-5-lipoxidase to prevent glioma stem cells from breeding and induce the glioma stem cells to differentiate to astrocyte phenotype; the nordihydroguaiaretic acid has better in vivo curative effect on glioma than the classical glioma chemotherapeutics, i.e. carmustine; meanwhile, the nordihydroguaiaretic acid can obviously inhibit tumour stem cells of gastric cancer, liver cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer and the like from breeding.
