Abstract

The invention discloses a modified rice porous starch, which is prepared through esterification reaction between rice porous starch and sodium tripolyphosphate and then through thermal denaturation reaction. The esterification reaction is that the rice porous starch reacts with the sodium tripolyphosphate for 1 to 3h at the temperature of 35 to 45 DEG C when the pH value is 9.5 to 10.5; and the thermal denaturation reaction is carried out on the esterified starch for 2h at the temperature of 90 to 110 DEG C when the water ratio of the esterified starch is 10 to 15 weight percent. The modifiedrice porous starch of the invention can serve as an adsorbent of cigarette filters; the dosage of the modified rice porous starch is 15mg per cigarette filter; the particle-phase radicals and gas-phase radicals in cigarette smoke are reduced by 13.69 percent and 4.47 percent respectively; and the tar content, nicotine content and CO in the cigarette smoke are reduced by 0.2mg, 0.1mg and 0.4mg respectively.
