Abstract

The invention discloses a system and a method for instantly translating web pages hooked by users. The system comprises a setting module, a hook screen capturing module, a character recognition module, a bilingual translation module and a translation result display module, wherein the setting module is used by the users to set specified shortcut keys; the hook screen capturing module is used for automatically capturing specified paragraphs after the users hook web page contents; the character recognition module is used for recognizing and processing word information in the captured paragraphs and eliminating nonverbal information; the bilingual translation module is used for instantly translating recognized and processed word information; and the translation result display module is used for displaying the translation result on an independent window. The invention not only is not limited by internal design formats and development languages of the web pages but also is not limited by external expression styles and animation colors of the web pages, completely overcomes the deadly defect that other online translation systems are severely limited by internal structures of the web pages, and can automatically translate any content, browsed on the internet by the users, in source language web pages, into target languages for reading.
