In this example, the radiopaque polymer article 10 is a prize inserted into a cereal box as a plastic toy figure. The radiopaque polymeric article 10 is preferably formed from a polymer blend comprising one or more radiopaque materials and one or more polymers. The inclusion of one or more radiopaque materials is important to the polymer blend because polymers themselves are substantially transparent to many forms of radiation such as X-rays, so using polymers alone will not produce effective radiopaque polymer products.

Abstract

The invention discloses a composition and a method for forming radiopaque polymer product. In on embodiment, radiation inspection device and method are subject to determine presence and quality of the radiopaque polymer product. A radiopque product is formed by mixing radiopque material such as barium, bismuth, tungsten, or their compound and pulverized polymer, granule polymer or polymer in solvent or water solution, emulsion or suspension. In addition to the radiation detectable product, the radiopque polymer material can be used for producing radiation-protective product such as radiation protection clothes and bomb container; nanomaterial can be used for promoting radiation protection ability. The invention can also be used for guarding other type of danger as fire, chemical, biology and shooting bomb.
