Problems solved by technology

[0005] However, due to erroneous detection of the preamble, the interrogator described in the above publication is configured in such a way that it does not decode the preamble if one of the I signal and the Q signal fails to detect the preamble.
Therefore, for example, when only the preamble of the I signal is detected, even if the I signal can be correctly decoded, the I signal is discarded without being decoded.

Embodiment Construction

[0018] Next, an RFID communication system according to a first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 schematically shows the configuration of an RFID communication system. The RFID communication system includes: an interrogator 100 also serving as a quadrature demodulation device and an RFID tag 200 serving as a transponder for short-distance communication with the interrogator 100 . The RFID tag 200 holds at least data of an identification code, and is mounted on a movable object. Data other than the identification code can also be retained in the RFID tag 200 . The interrogator 100 transmits the modulated carrier wave for "paging" and the subsequent radio wave as an unmodulated carrier wave. When the radio wave is radiated into the external space of the interrogator 100 and reaches the RFID tag 200, the RFID tag 200 responds to the call from the interrogator 100, and performs backscatter modulation in which the respons...

Abstract

Provided is an orthogonal demodulation device, which makes effective use of the result of an orthogonal detection so as to improve a demodulation efficiency. The orthogonal demodulation device comprises an orthogonal detector (DT) for orthogonally detecting a received signal obtained by receiving a radio wave from a radio discrimination tag, thereby to generate an in-phase signal and an orthogonal phase signal, and a demodulating circuit (DM) for detecting the preamble of a specific transition pattern from at least one of the in-phase signal and the orthogonal phase signal, for decoding at least one of the in-phase signal and the orthogonal phase signal so as to attain the data subsequent to that preamble, and for performing an error detection on the decoding result so as to confirm the existence of an error.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a quadrature demodulation device, a quadrature demodulation method, and a quadrature demodulation program for performing quadrature detection on received signals obtained by receiving radio waves from, for example, radio identification (RFID) tags. Background technique [0002] In recent years, radio identification (RFID) identification is gradually being applied to various fields. An RFID tag is a type of transponder that communicates short-range wirelessly with an interrogator. The interrogator transmits the modulated "call" carrier and the radio wave as this subsequent unmodulated carrier. The RFID tag responds to the call from the interrogator, performs backscatter modulation in which the response information is superimposed on the above-mentioned unmodulated carrier, and transmits the obtained radio wave as a modulation result to the interrogator. The response signal is composed of a synchronization signal part i...
