The invention also provides a heartbeat testing system and the CPU to be applied in a symmetrical multi-processing (SMP) system to realize the state detection of the CPU in the SMP system. The initial priority of the idle task adopted by the invention is low priority and the priority of the idle task can be adjusted according to actual requirements, thus ensuring that the heartbeat testing has a relatively high real-time performance under the situation that the utilization rate of internet resources in the SMP system is guaranteed.
