The mixture was stirred at reflux for 24h. The suspension is allowed to cool, and the residue is filtered off with suction and washed with water. The residue was dried at 50[deg.] C., giving bright red iridescent particles with additional absorption bands in the UV-A region due to the content of organic UV filters.

The mixture was then made up to a total volume of 750 ml with water. The mixture was stirred at reflux for 12h. The suspension is allowed to cool, and the residue is filtered off with suction and washed with water until the filtrate which has run off is practically free of active compound. The residue was dried at 60° C. to give a iridescent pigment with a red interference color, which releases the antioxidant effect of rutin sulfate in the formulation at pH<6.

The suspension is allowed to cool, and the residue is filtered off with suction and washed with about two liters of water. The residue was first dried at 110°C and subsequently calcined at 300-600°C.
