Embodiment Construction

[0077]Figures 4a-c show floorboards 1, 1' having a mechanical locking system on both their long sides 4a, 4b and short sides 5a, 5b. The vertical locking means may comprise, for example, a groove 23 and a tongue 22 (see FIG. 5 ). The horizontal locking means may comprise a locking element 8 in combination with a locking groove 14 . All floorboards are rectangular and their width corresponds to that of traditional parquet. The width is thus approximately one-third that of conventional laminate floorboards. In Fig. 4a, the surface of the floorboard is in the shape of a parquet block. In Figure 4b, the surface has a decorative surface layer consisting of two parquet wood pieces. In Figure 4c the surface layer consists of three parquet blocks. The surface layer may be laminate, wood, plastic, linoleum, cork, various fibrous materials such as needle felt, and the like. The surface can also be printed and / or (lacquered) painted.

Abstract

Floorboards with a format corresponding to a traditional parquet block for laying of mechanically joined floating flooring. The invention further comprises flooring systems and methods for manufacturing and installation of floorings comprising such floorboards.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates generally to the field of floorboards. The invention relates to floorboards that can be joined mechanically in different patterns, thus resembling a traditional parquet floor composed of tiles. The invention also relates to a method for laying and producing floorboards. The invention is particularly applicable to floating / floating floors which are constructed of laminated surfaces and are secured by means of a mechanical locking system integral to the floorboards - such as those not entirely made from the core of the floorboards. Composed of joined floorboards. However, the invention can also be used for other similar floorboards, for example floorboards having a surface layer of wood or plastic and joined in a floating manner by an optional mechanical connection system. [0002] The invention is particularly applicable to floating laminate floors having a mechanical joining system. Such floors generally consist of lamin...
