Benefits of technology

The patent describes a method for evaporating water using a closed-loop heating system and an evaporation subsystem. The heating system heats a first fluid to a lower temperature, and the evaporation subsystem uses a second fluid to absorb the heat from the first fluid. The second fluid is then flashed into its liquid and vapor phases in a flash tank, and the vapor is condensed in a condensing heat exchanger. The heat removed by the condensation process is then used to evaporate additional water. The method has the technical effect of efficiently evaporating water at a high rate.

Problems solved by technology

Power dissipates as heat in the water causing the water to increase in temperature and to vaporize.

Abstract

Systems and methods are provided for heating and manipulating a fluid to heat the fluid, evaporate water from the fluid, concentrate the fluid, separate the fluid into fractions; and / or pasteurize the fluid, comprising a closed-loop heating subsystem coupled to a primary fluid-to-fluid heat exchanger, and one or more fluid manipulation subsystems also coupled to the primary fluid-to-fluid heat exchanger.
