In operation, the bare filament 16 is coated by passing it through a cup 18 that has a hole in the bottom and is filled with an Aquabond coating 20. A heater 22 arranged in relation to the cup 18 provides heat to the cup 18 for maintaining it at a predetermined temperature. After the filament is coated with Aquabond 20, the filament 16 with the Aquabond coating 20 thereon is taken-up on a wheel or spool 24, as shown.
