[0145] A clinical study was performed involving patients complaining of headaches and frequently taking acute pain medications such as narcotics and triptans for pain control. Some of these patients were diagnosed with a medication overuse headache (MOH) condition. Patients in the study were given a botulinum toxin (BOTOX) three times on days 0, 90, and 180 during the clinical study. BOTOX injections were administered intramuscularly with an average of 20 discrete injections per patient during each of the three injection periods. BOTOX was administered to up to seven different muscles (ie a total of 20 injections into 7 muscles).
