Abstract

The invention relates to a printer and a control method thereof, which aims at leading the relationship of the print start position corresponding to the front end of a recording sheet to be adjusted into the required relationship, under the condition that the rated conditions bring into existence, the conveying speed of the recording sheet is reduced when the front end of the recording sheet reaches the upstream position of the rated distance of a convey roller. Under the condition that the rated conditions are not satisfied, the conveying speed of the recording sheet is not reduced, but the front end of the recording sheet is directly contacted with the conveying roller, thereby preventing the drop of the printing quality and avoiding prolonging the print time unnecessarily.
