Plus, users still have to install themselves at the table with an interface jukebox for on-demand songs
And whether using a traditional jukebox or a small jukebox system, listeners can't preview a song before ordering it

Embodiment Construction

[0040] A Dynamic Content Delivery System (DCDS) may be used to deliver user-selected songs through the audio system. The DCDS is a system that receives a request from a user for delivery of specific content, and delivers the requested content through the same or a different network. Content may be sound recordings (e.g., songs, compositions, sound effects, or other audio content), video recordings (e.g., television programs, music program videos, movies, or other video content), or other content suitable for delivery over a network (e.g., , stock tickers, news headlines, sports scores, etc.). Those skilled in the art will understand that the DCDS can be used to deliver both audio and video content, and for example purposes, the present invention is described here using a DCDS that mainly delivers audio content.

Abstract

The present invention discloses a method and system for building a Dynamic Content Delivery System (DCDS). In one embodiment, a mobile communication device with Bluetooth is used to communicate with a server to request delivery of specific content, such as songs, videos, etc., to a separate output device, such as a speaker, display screen, etc. In another embodiment, the content is delivered back to the requesting mobile communication device. In some embodiments, a hybrid network may be used to request and deliver content. Narrowband, two-way, unicast networks can be used to request content and acknowledge requests, while broadband one-way, multicast networks can be used to deliver requested content to requesting client devices. The order in which the content is delivered may be modified by user request according to a predetermined algorithm.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to wireless communications. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method and system for requesting media content over one network and delivering the media content over another network. Background technique [0002] Driven in part by the advent of the Internet, the use of personal computers and mobile communications has increased steadily in recent years. The combination of mobile communications and the Internet has enabled the adoption of a new set of communication tools and expanded the media, service and manufacturing industries that have contributed to the growth of personal communications. [0003] The next wave of mobile technology, 3G (third-generation cellular) devices, will feature telephony, Internet access, PC-like applications and video streaming. Many of these devices will be Bluetooth enabled. Bluetooth is a low-power, short-range radio technology that can be used to connect one device to an...
