Embodiment Construction

[0032] Refer below figure 1 The method of the invention is described. Before refining, the cellulose-containing raw material can be pretreated in a conventional manner (eg with heat or chemical methods), depending on the type of pulp to be produced. Thereafter, the raw material undergoes a first refining step in a first (main) refining furnace 1 . The first refining step produces a high freeness, about 650 ml CSF, in the pulp to be produced. In the subsequent processing step 2, the so-called waiting box, the fibers are straightened during a certain holding time under the influence of dilution, heat and chemical agitation. The pulp leaving processing step 2 has a consistency of about 5-6% and is further diluted in dilution step 3 to about 1-2% before being subjected to separation step 4 .

[0033] In the separation step 4, up to 15% of the pulp fibers are separated from the pulp flow as base fines 5, ie smaller than 200 mesh according to Bauer McNett. In a preferred embodim...

Abstract

A method in connection with the production of mechanical pulp from a cellulose containing material wherein the material is processed in at least one refining step to produce pulp. According to the invention, the pulp is fractionated ( 4 ), after a first refining step ( 1 ), in order to separate primary fines ( 5 ) from the pulp. The invention also relates to a mechanical pulp, produced by the method, and to a paperboard, which at least partly consists of such mechanical pulp.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a process for the production of mechanical pulp from cellulose-containing material, wherein the material is treated in at least one refining step to produce pulp. The invention also relates to a mechanical pulp produced by the method and to a paperboard at least partially comprising such a mechanical pulp. Background technique [0002] The majority of the mechanical pulp is usually CTMP (chemithermomechanical pulp), which is the main ingredient in multi-ply board structures and usually makes up about 70% of the center ply and up to 50% of the board furnish. [0003] In order to obtain high flexural stiffness of the paperboard, it is desirable for the center ply to have high strength at a paper density as low as possible. Therefore, an efficient Scott bond density relationship is required. For this, there are two opposing aspects to consider. Firstly, only those raw material components that con...
