The method comprises the following steps: collecting video stream image information of a parking lot of the highway service area; based on the video stream image information, identifying the overall parking stall saturation of the parking lot in the service area, the parking stall saturation and orientation of the parking areas of various vehicle types, the number of occupied parking stalls of the parking areas of various vehicle types, and the number and orientation of remaining parking stalls; overall parking space saturation of a parking lot in the service area is displayed on a main road line connected with the service area, parking space saturation and orientation of various vehicle type parking areas are displayed at an entrance of the service area, and the number of occupied parking spaces, the number of remaining parking spaces and orientation of the various vehicle type parking areas are displayed in front of the entrance of the various vehicle type parking areas. Therefore, three-level parking guidance, including main line forecast guidance, entrance total capacity guidance and vehicle type and parking space guidance, of the vehicle on the expressway can be realized respectively.
