Problems solved by technology

Obviously, additional seals and drives are required to mate with the additional input shaft, adding cost and complexity to the assembly
Furthermore, the additional input shaft and the corresponding drive also lead to increased difficulties related to the control of the drive

Abstract

An isolation switch (100) and a switchgear (200). The disconnector (100) comprises a contact assembly (107) operable to change a state of an electrical circuit, the disconnector (100) being arranged in the electrical circuit; the shaft (101, 102) is adapted to be driven in rotation to operate the contact assembly (107); and a transmission unit (103) arranged between the shafts (101, 102) and comprising: a plurality of gears (1031, 1032) mounted to the shafts (101, 102) to rotate the shafts (101, 102) as the plurality of gears (1031, 1032) mesh with each other; and a support assembly (1033) adapted to maintain a radial position of the plurality of gears (1031, 1032) to ensure intermeshing of the plurality of gears (1031, 1032). The radial position of the gears (1031, 1032) is maintained by arranging the support assembly (1033), ensuring that the plurality of gears (1031, 1032) mesh with each other, even if the input and output shafts (101, 102) are not coaxial, only one input shaft (101) and one transmission unit (103) are sufficient to transmit a sufficiently large torque to operate the contact assembly (107). Therefore, a sealing device is enough to well seal the disconnecting switch (100). In this way, the complexity and cost of assembly are reduced.

Description

technical field [0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to switchgear, and more particularly, to a disconnector for a switchgear. Background technique [0002] In power systems, switchgear consists of a combination of galvanic isolating switches, fuses, or circuit breakers used to control, protect, and isolate electrical equipment. A disconnect switch is a switch that operates when no current is flowing in the power system. That is to say, the opening and closing operations of the isolating switch are performed when there is no current flowing in the circuit. The isolating switch is mainly used to maintain the circuit under the condition of no load current. [0003] Disconnect switches are widely used in industrial applications, power distribution, and other applications. High voltage type disconnectors are used in substations to allow isolation of equipment such as transformers and circuit breakers. Disconnectors are mainly used for isolation purpo...
