Embodiment Construction

[0050] In the various figures, the same components always have the same reference numerals, so said components are usually also described only once.

[0051] figure 1 A schematic illustration of a shell-shaped pillar trim element 22 of a B-pillar trim of a motor vehicle is shown in oblique perspective. The shell-shaped pillar trim element 22 is part of a possible embodiment of the fastening device 10 for a B-pillar trim according to the invention and is in figure 1 is shown in the assembled position with the shell-shaped inner side 28 pointing outwards ( figure 2 ).

[0052] The shell-shaped pillar trim element 22 is provided with a guide groove 30 which extends substantially horizontally in the assembled state corresponding to the shown assembled position ( figure 1 ). The guide groove 30 serves to receive edge elements, such as the piping of the roof lining. Furthermore, the shell-shaped pillar trim element 22 has, as the uppermost end, a bevel 32 as a guide surface fo...

Abstract

The invention relates to a fastening device (10) for a B-pillar trim panel of a motor vehicle with a curtain airbag. The fastening device includes a shell-shaped pillar trim panel element (22) and an inner pillar element (12). According to the invention, the shell-shaped pillar trim panel element (22) is provided with a horizontally extending guide groove (30) for receiving an edge element of the roof lining (42), and a first form-fitting element (34) fastened to an inner side (28) of the shell-shaped pillar trim panel element (22) is provided in the upper region (24). A second form-fitting element (16) is arranged in an upper region (14) of the inner column element (12). A lower partial region (18) of the second form-fitting element (16) allows the first form-fitting element (34) to partially penetrate to the outside. The second form-fitting element (16) is arranged to prevent a movement of the first form-fitting element (34) inward and in a direction parallel to a straight forward travel direction (44) of the motor vehicle by means of the form-fitting connection with the upper partial region (20).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a fastening device for a B-pillar trim of a motor vehicle with a curtain airbag according to the preamble of claim 1 , having a shell-shaped pillar trim element and an inner pillar element. The invention also relates to a method of fastening a B-pillar trim of a motor vehicle having a curtain airbag using such a fastening device according to the preamble of claim 9 . Background technique [0002] The use of crash cushions (airbags) is known in the field of automotive engineering, which in the event of a crash can be deployed suddenly within the vehicle interior of a motor vehicle to protect the vehicle occupants from hitting hard parts inside the vehicle (such as the steering wheel ). Crash cushions can be arranged at different positions in the passenger compartment. In particular, so-called curtain airbags are known, which are arranged on the interior roof side of the vehicle and when actuated are deployed like curtains on t...
