Abstract

The invention provides a driving method applied to a display device. The display device is used for displaying multiple frames of images, a first display area and a second display area are defined in the display device, and the driving method comprises the following steps of driving the first display area and the second display area to jointly display the images in a first driving time period; in a second driving period, receiving a fingerprint identification starting signal, driving the first display area to keep displaying a frame of image, driving at least part of the second display area to keep displaying a white picture, and driving the second display area to identify a fingerprint; and in a third driving period, receiving a fingerprint identification ending signal, and driving the first display area and the second display area to jointly display the image. The invention further provides a display device.
