Embodiment Construction

[0035] figure 1 A schematic diagram of an article 100 for improving soil fertility according to an example embodiment is shown. Article 100 includes a container 102 made from a fluid permeable membrane 104 . Article 100 also includes various types of fertilizer 106 disposed in container 102 . Article 100 also includes a moisture regulator disposed in container 102, such as figure 1 The hydrogel in 108 is shown. The moisture conditioner is configured to repeatedly absorb moisture from the outside of the container 102 and release the absorbed moisture into the space inside the container 102 based on the moisture gradient existing between the space inside the container 102 and the outside of the container 102 to control the fertilizer from The release of the container through the membrane. The moisture regulator is further configured to form a substrate in the space within the container 102 to dock moisture sensitive microorganisms that are capable of transporting through the...

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to an article for enriching soil fertility, a method of manufacturing the same and a method of enriching soil fertility. The article comprising a container comprising afluid-permeable membrane, a fertilizer disposed in the container and a moisture regulator disposed in the container. The moisture regulator is configured to repeatedly absorb moisture from outside thecontainer and release the absorbed moisture into a space within the container based on a moisture gradient existing between the space within the container and outside the container, to control a release of the fertilizer from the container through the membrane. The moisture regulator is further configured to form a base in the space within the container to harbor moisture-sensitive microbes, themicrobes being transferable through the membrane based on the moisture gradient.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates broadly, but not exclusively, to articles for improving soil fertility, methods of making the same and methods of improving soil fertility. Background technique [0002] Nutrient and water deficiencies can stunt plant growth. Rapid urbanization and overuse of land have led to land degradation problems becoming more and more serious. Issues such as high levels of heavy metals and high salinity in the soil can affect the conditions of the soil where crops are grown. Increased threats of land degradation may affect agricultural production and sustainability. [0003] Agricultural land needs to be constantly fertilized and treated to avoid these problems. For example, fertilization can be done by supplying the soil with the right amount of water and fertilizer. This can mitigate the effects of different types of abiotic and biotic stresses, thereby enhancing crop growth. Farmers can fertilize crops manually. Other applic...
