Embodiment 1

[0065] Example 1: Isolation and Identification of Bacterial Strains

[0066] Bacterial single colonies obtained by spreading crude liquid extracts of Kimchi in MRS medium were collected and cultured in MRS liquid medium. DNA was extracted using the QIAamp DNA Mini Kit (QIAgen, Germany). The extracted DNA was confirmed using a 1% agarose gel. PCR was performed using the extracted genomic DNA as a template to amplify the 16S rDNA gene. PCR conditions were 30 cycles of the following steps: denaturation at 95°C for 1 minute, annealing at 45°C for 1 minute and extension at 72°C for 1 minute and 30 seconds. The sequences of the obtained PCR products were analyzed by Macrogen (Seoul, Korea). Bacterial identification was performed by similarity analysis of 16S rDNA sequences with the Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLAST) search engine of the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI, www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov).

[0067] As a result of 16S rDNA base sequence analysis for i...

Embodiment 2

[0071] Example 2: Confirmation of the effect of Lactobacillus flexus WIKIM55 on promoting hair growth

[0072] The Lactobacillus flexus WIKIM55 strain isolated in Example 1 was cultured in MRS medium at 30° C. for 24 hours, then the cultured bacteria were centrifuged at 8000 rpm for 5 minutes, and then washed with PBS to remove residual medium components. Then, the number of bacteria was quantified to 1 × 10 using PBS 10 CFU / mL, and 0.2 mL (2×10 9 CFU) were orally administered to test animals. Sterile PBS was administered to the negative and positive control groups.

[0073] 1) Sensory evaluation

[0074] Six-week-old mice (C57 / BL6) before telogen were placed in a breeding room for one week, and then the hair on their backs was removed using an epilator for animals. Hair growth patterns were then assessed by clinical visual assessment 30 days after oral administration of L. flexus WIKIM55.

[0075] The result is as figure 1 As shown, the group fed the Lactobacillus fle...

Embodiment 3

[0082] Example 3: Confirmation of the effect of Lactobacillus flexus WIKIM55 on promoting hair growth

[0083] The Lactobacillus flexus WIKIM55 strain isolated in Example 1 was cultured in MRS medium at 30° C. for 24 hours, then the cultured bacteria were centrifuged at 8000 rpm for 5 minutes, and then washed with PBS to remove residual medium components. Then, the number of bacteria was quantified to 1 × 10 using PBS 10 CFU / mL, and 0.2 mL (2×10 9 CFU) were orally administered to test animals. Sterile PBS was administered to the negative and positive control groups.

[0084] 1) Sensory evaluation

[0085] Six-week-old mice (C57 / BL6) before telogen were placed in a breeding room for one week, and then the hair on their backs was removed using an epilator for animals. Hair growth pattern was assessed by clinical visual assessment after 20 weeks of oral administration of Lactobacillus flexus WIKIM55.

[0086] Such as Figure 4 As shown, the PBS-fed control group (PBS) was...

Abstract

The present invention relates to a novel Lactobacillus curvatus WIKIM55 isolated from kimchi, and a composition containing the same. The Lactobacillus curvatus WIKIM55 according to the present invention is a probiotic having activities of promoting hair growth and can be diversely applied for intestinal regulation and promotion of hair growth in humans or animals.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates to novel strains of Lactobacillus curvatus and compositions comprising the same. Background technique [0002] Hair is a body organ that protects the head, maintains the temperature of the head, etc., and determines the appearance, which has aroused great interest in people. Therefore, interest in hair loss and hair loss treatment is increasing, and research and development on hair loss treatment are actively being carried out. Hair grows and falls out during the following 4 phases of the hair cycle: anagen (anagen), catagen (transition), telogen (telogen) and shedding (shedding). Hair loss refers to hair loss caused when hair loss exceeds hair growth due to various reasons. Currently known causes of hair loss include genetic factors, blood flow problems, and endocrine disorders caused by the male hormone testosterone. In addition, stress is considered to be an external cause. [0003] As typical hair growth promoters...
