Abstract

This disclosure relates to switching mobile service providers using blockchain. Example operations may include one or more of: receiving, by the mobile service provider, a mobile number portability request from a mobile device connected to the current mobile service provider; Extract mobile device migration data from the blockchain ledger; verify the extracted mobile device migration data; in response to successful verification, send a request to the blockchain ledger to update the current mobile service provider data; and receive from the blockchain indicating the current mobile service provider Notification of disconnection between the service provider and the mobile device; porting of the mobile device number; and updating of the mobile device porting data in the blockchain ledger.

Background technique [0002] In today's world, most mobile phone users want to keep their own phone numbers when they change mobile service providers (SPs). Traditionally, number portability services can allow mobile users to switch SPs while maintaining the same phone number. However, switching SPs while maintaining the same phone number can take a lot of time and processing due to the unique porting code used by the SPs. Mobile users can explore and select the next SP.
