The molecular genetic marker, ALGA0123896, is identified as a molecular genetic marker influential on effective boar sperm count. Being used for marking effective sperm counts of different genotypes of boars, ALGA0123896 shows very significant difference. The screened molecular genetic marker influential on effective boar sperm count, namely the ALGA0123896, belongs to intron sequence of NC 010444 gene, and is a T>C mutation at the site. The molecular genetic marker can be detected and applied for breeding on basis of boar semen yield, namely to select and retain homozygous boars with high effective sperm count per sperm collection; and then, continuous selecting and retaining are carried out so as to have effective sperm count in boars effectively improved.
