The invention provides a method for improving a saline-alkali land by planting seashore paspalum, which comprises the following steps of: 1) ditching the saline-alkali land to form a drainage channeland a planting area; wherein the planting area is laid with a crushed stone layer, the upper part of the crushed stone layer is laid with a straw layer, the upper part of the straw layer is laid withsalt discharge pipes, and the upper part of the salt discharge pipes is laid with soil mixed with improved fertilizer to form a planting layer; 2) constructing a nursery garden in the planting area, and planting the stems of the seashore paspalum; 3) managing maintenance. According to the invention, the severe saline-alkali land is comprehensively improved by adopting the measures such as irrigation and drainage for removing salt, salt return prevention through the isolation layer, chemical salt modification, biological salt control and the like, and the effect of rapid improvement is achieved. By using the method, the synergistic effect between the root system and the improvement fertilizer during the growth of the seashore paspalum in the first year intensively improves the saline-alkaliland; on the basis of continuous application of the improvement fertilizer in the second year, the improvement requirement is basically met, and the improvement can be advanced by more than 5 years compared with a prior method.
