The method includes the following steps: partitioning a part of area in physical memory of the display terminal to define thesame as a bare area used for storing event information; obtaining the event information in the bare area; and determining a fault of the display terminal when event information at an end position ofthe bare area is not resetting information. The invention also discloses a computer-readable storage medium and the display terminal. According to a scheme of the fault backtracking method of the display terminal of the invention, all software behaviors or software states which are in a system and are recorded or stored through the bare area are more comprehensive, various details cannot be misseddue to excessive network server data pressure, and high-precision monitoring and backtracking are realized; and at the same time, a manner of collecting the event information offline does not dependon a network server, and a case where the event information of the fault cannot be collected cannot occur due to network disconnection.
