The method comprises the steps of: employing a system of polar coordinates to divide a search space into fan-shaped grids with radiuses of r, angles of [Theta] and quantities of nr; calculating a feature value array (A1, A2, ...An); and searching the minimum value Am in the feature value array, wherein the grid where the minimum value Am is located is a grid where a partial discharge point is located. It is determined whether the size of the grid where the minimum value Am islocated meets a precision demand or not, if yes, the grid where the minimum value Am is located is taken as the final solution, and if not, the grid where the minimum value Am is located is taken as anext space to be searched for grid division again.
