The method comprises the following steps of: receiving an operation indication input by a user, wherein the operation indication is used for indicating to start a target object; sending a request message to a server, wherein the request message comprises an identifier of the operation indication; receiving indication information sent by the server, wherein the indication information is determined by the server according to the identifier of the operation indication and preset configuration information; and determining whether to start the target object or not according to the indication information. According to the method, specific functions can be displayed without releasing new versions, so that the problem that the user experience is not good as specific functions only can be displayed for a relatively long time.
