The MIDI piano music style classification method is implemented by using a sample collection unit and a data classification unit. According to the sample collection unit, music section samples containing main melody and accompaniment information are extractedfrom a piano piece, each music section sample consists of a fixed number of note vectors, each note vector contains pitch of main melody notes, the starting time of the main melody notes in the corresponding section, the time of duration of the main melody notes and the possible pitch information of accompaniment notes of the main melody notes; and the data classification unit is used for receiving samples of the sample collection unit for training and classification. In the classification process, the influence of accompaniment on music style is considered, the number of samples is increasedby the sample collection unit, and therefore the accuracy of classification is improved.
