The method comprises the following steps: a gateway controller connected with atleast two control area networks(CAN)on an electric vehicle collects dormancy condition data and wake-up condition data of the at least two CANs, performs the dormancy processing on a first network when the first CAN satisfies a preset dormancy condition, controls each controller in the network to enter a dormancy state, and stops forwarding message information of each controller in the network; and the gateway controller performs the wake-up processing on a second network when the second CAN satisfies the preset wake-up condition, forwards the message information of each controller in the network, and forwards the message information to each controller in the network, thereby controlling all controllers in the CAN to enter the dormancy state when all controllers in the CAN are out of work.
