AI Technical Summary

Benefits of technology

The technical purpose addressed by this patented technology is how to create strong yet flexible plastic composites (FRPS) from nonwoven fabric or other fibers made of synthetic polymers like vinyl chlorophyllotetrachloro acid ester copolymer(VCM), Polypropylene napthalateimidazole(PPMIA)/phenothiazoline derivative(PTZ)) type thermosets. By adding these ingredients into unvulcanized rubbers called unsaturation polyesters, they are able to make stronger and more durable parts compared to traditional methods involving expensive epoxy systems. Additionally, due to their unique property - short contraction period, fast increasing ability, reduced evaporation rate, and improved thermal insulation capabilities, there is also a desire for cost reduction over current commercial processes.

Problems solved by technology

Technological Problem: Current methods for producing Glass Fiber Reinforce Plastiphane (GRPP) are expensive or require complicated processes that can result in defective products due to insufficient strength during cure under certain temperatures. Additionally, these techniques involve prolonged exposures to harsh environments such as sunlight, water vapor, oxygen gas, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen oxides, volatile organic compounds, solvents, acids, bases, metal salts, moistened areas, extreme weather conditions, and other harmful substances.

Abstract

The invention discloses an unsaturated polyester resin glass fiber prepreg for low-temperature and low-pressure forming. The prepreg is prepared from glass fibers, unsaturated polyester resin, nanometer magnesium hydroxide, crystalline solid polyester, a release agent, a coupling agent, isocyanate, unsaturated low-shrinkage resin and a curing agent, wherein the mass percentage of the glass fibersto the raw materials is 40%-65%, the mass percentage of the unsaturated polyester resin to the raw materials is 20%-50%, and the mass percentage of nanometer magnesium hydroxide to the raw materials is 1%-10%. The prepared glass fiber prepreg in the forming process and conditions of 2-6 MPa and 80-105 DEG C has properties of materials under normal compression moulding conditions of 7-10 MPa and 140-155 DEG C, the flexural strength and the impact toughness are improved, the moulding process is relatively simple, and the cost is obviously reduced. In addition, the invention further relates to apreparation method of the unsaturated polyester resin glass fiber prepreg for low-temperature and low-pressure forming.
