Abstract

The invention provides a forward error correction feedback information transmission method and device. The forward error correction feedback information transmission device receives a media data packet of an opposite terminal, determines the packet loss rate, generates forward error correction feedback information for the packet loss rate and packages the forward error correction feedback information to the media data packet, wherein the media data packet comprises media data sent to the opposite terminal; and then the forward error correction feedback information transmission device sends the media data packet to the opposite terminal, and therefore the opposite terminal can conduct corresponding forward error correction control processing according to the forward error correction feedback information in the media data packet. The problems that when forward error correction feedback is conducted according to an RTCP, forward error correction coding redundancy adjustment and data recovery are slow, and the user experience is poor can be effectively solved; and the effects of adjusting forward error correction coding redundancy in real time, accelerating data recovery and improving the user experience are achieved.
