Abstract

The invention discloses a determination method for a cigarette ash column shrinkage ratio. The method comprises the following steps: vertically placing a cigarette on a detector for the wrapped ash of the cigarette, with the lap of the cigarette being inward; subjecting the cigarette to static burning or standard smoking until the cigarette burns to a designated position and carrying out shooting; then measuring the area of an ash column obtained after burning; and calculating the variation extent of the area (S) of the ash column obtained after burning and the area (s) of the cigarette before burning. The cigarette ash column shrinkage ratio (beta) is calculated according to the equation that beta is equal to (S-s) / S * 100%. The greater the value of the cigarette ash column shrinkage ratio is, the higher the cigarette ash column shrinkage ratio is. The determination method for the cigarette ash column shrinkage ratio in the invention employs a repeatable standardized process in each step and is not prone to influence of the skill, experience and subjective consciousness of technical staff, so detection data is objective and standard, and the method can be used for accreditation and standardized authentication of the technical indexes of cigarette performance in the cigarette industry.
