Problems solved by technology

[0004] For the end-to-end (English: End To End, abbreviation: E2E) network using NFV technology, compared with the overload flow control of the front-end network elements, the overload flow control of the back-end network elements will cause more waste of network resources. The business success rate is low; while the front-end network elements are overloaded with flow control and the back-end network elements are lightly loaded, the service success rate of the E2E network cannot be maximized because the network element resources with light loads are not fully utilized
Although the service success rate of the E2E network can be improved by directly expanding the capacity of network elements with overload flow control, this requires sufficient idle resources in the resource pool, and the resource utilization rate at this time is not high

Abstract

The embodiments of the present invention provide a resource management method and device, said method comprising: a resource management device obtaining status parameters of a plurality of VNF networks comprised by an E2E network; according to said status parameters, determining from the plurality of VNFs a first to-be-expanded VNF and a first resource capacity required for expansion; if idle resource capacity in a resource pool is smaller than said first resource capacity, then according to the status parameters, the resource management device determining a first to-be-contracted VNF from the plurality of VNFs, and contracting said first to-be-contracted VNF according to the first resource capacity; if, after the resource management device has contracted the first to-be-contracted VNF, the idle resource capacity in the resource pool is larger than or equal to the first resource capacity, then the resource management device expanding the first to-be-expanded VNF. By means of the embodiments of the present invention, a balanced allocation of resources among VNFs in an E2E network is ensured under conditions of insufficient idle resources, thus improving resource utilization and the service success rate of the E2E network.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the field of communication technologies, and in particular to a resource management method and equipment. Background technique [0002] Traditional telecommunication networks are composed of a variety of physical devices. Different network services require different physical devices. With the rapid growth of network scale, telecommunication networks are becoming larger and more complex, which also brings many problems. For example, the development and launch of new services is slow, the operation and maintenance of the system is complex and costly, and the resource utilization rate is low. [0003] The proposal of Network Function Virtualization (English: Network Function Virtualization, abbreviation: NFV) technology can well solve the above problems. NFV technology can be understood as the migration of the functions of each network element used in the telecommunications network system from the current dedicated hardwar...
