The method comprises the steps that a library access request sent by a terminal is received, and a library identifier carried by the library access request is acquired; a virtual reality library model is generated according to the library identifier, and the virtual reality library model is sent to the terminal, so that the terminal can output the virtual reality library model; a reading instruction which carries a book identifier and is sent by the terminal based on the virtual reality library model is received, and a target book corresponding to the book identifier and book contents of the target book are searched; and the virtual reality library model is synthesized with the target book so as to generate a virtual reality reading scene, and the virtual reality reading scene and the book contents are sent to the terminal, so that the terminal can output the virtual reality reading scheme and the book contents. Through application of the method and device disclosed by the invention, display modes of a display interface are enriched; a reading atmosphere is strengthened; and reading efficiency is increased.
