The method comprises following steps: variety selection, soil selection, soil preparation and fertilizer application, seed processing, proper sowing, reasonable close planting, thinning and final singling, water saving and irrigation, pest and diseases prevention and control, and harvesting and processing and comprehensive utilization of many technologies. The water-saving and efficient cultivation method for red flowers utilizing drip irrigation has following beneficial effects: the method is utilized for cultivation of red flowers so that water irrigation amount per mu is 70-100 m<2>; compared with the conventional cultivation, water can be saved by 440 <2>; yield per mu of red flower filaments can be up to 30-35 kg and red flower seeds per mu is 135 kg; compared with conventional cultivation per mu, the yield of filaments is increased by 15 kg; and the red flower seeds per mu is increased by 35 kg; the flower filaments is sold by 90yuan / kg; the red flower seeds is sold by 50 and yield per mu is increased by 1525 yuan; regardless of cost of 500 yuan / mu for drip irrigation equipment and water cost of 100 yuan, additional net profit per mu is 975 yuan.
