Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention relate to the technical field of multimedia. Provided are a multimedia redirection method, device and system, for addressing a problem that in the prior art, a multimedia redirection technology is not suitable for a non-Windows-operating-system-based client terminal. The method comprises that a server receives a hardware decoding capacity transmitted by the client terminal, and the hardware decoding capacity refers to the capacity that the client terminal transforms the hardware decoding capacity of the non-Windows operating system to the hardware decoding capacity of a DirectX Video Acceleration (DXVA) specification; and after receiving the hardware decoding capacity, the server restores video data to a video code stream in a standard coding format, and transmits the video data stream to the client terminal for decoding and display. The embodiments of the present invention are used for multimedia redirection of the non-Windows-operating-system-based client terminal.
