The invention relates to a method of communication between the vehicle (1) and the wayside control unit (11) for controlling the inductive power transfer to the vehicle (1), wherein the control unit (11) controls a generation of an electromagnetic field by a primary unit (9) with a primary winding structure of a system for inductive power transfer, wherein the vehicle (1) comprises a secondary unit (3) with a secondary winding structure for receiving the alternating electromagnetic field, wherein charging-related data is transmitted in between the vehicle (1) and the control unit (11) via a first communication link (13), wherein the authentication-related data is transmitted from the vehicle (1) to the control unit (11) via a second communication link (17, 18), wherein the authentication-related data is used to authenticate the charging-related data, and the vehicle (1) and the arrangement of the vehicle (1) and the primary unit.
