Problems solved by technology

Our experiments also found that extract mixtures of healthy and susceptible Chinese rose plants had attractant and repellent effects, respectively (Yang et al, Entomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, 2013, 148(1): 39–47), but did not identify its constituents, It is not yet clear what components have attractant and repellent activity

[0029] 1. Attraction of Oviposition by Butyl Hexadecanoate to Adult Beet Spodoptera

[0030] Put about 3 cm thick sterile soil in two 500 mL beakers, sprinkle appropriate amount of sterile water to moisten the soil. Insert a bunch of 5 branches in total, about 30 cm long, healthy fresh Chinese rose branches without diseases and insect pests, and insert them into the soil in the beaker. Mark the two beakers with the branches inserted as No. 1 and No. 2 respectively, and put them into an egg-laying cage made of fine wire mesh, about 50 cm apart. Use ethanol as a solvent to prepare 0.01 mol / L solution of butyl hexadecanoate, take 5 mL of this solution and spray evenly on the branches and leaves in No. 1 beaker, and use 5 mL of ethanol to spray the branches and leaves in No. control.

[0031] The beet armyworm was raised artificially until it pupated, and the pupae were taken out under a stereoscope to distinguish between male and female, and the male and female pupae were reare...

Abstract

The invention discloses a method employing hexadecanoic acid butyl ester as a female spodoptera exigua hiibner attractant, and belongs to a method for attracting insects to protect plants by virtue of semiochemicals of host plants. A 0.01 to 0.05mol / L solution, further preferably a 0.03 mol / L solution, is prepared from the hexadecanoic acid butyl ester by adopting ethanol as a solvent. The female spodoptera exigua hiibner attraction rate of the hexadecanoic acid butyl ester is tested by a Y-type olfactometer to be maximally 68.0 percent. The egg laying amount after spraying application of the hexadecanoic acid butyl ester in an indoor egg laying experiment is 15.2 times higher than the reference, and the attraction rate in a field experiment reaches 81.4 percent. Such a compound can be used for preparing a biological pesticide for preventing and controlling spodoptera exigua hiibner.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to a method for using semiochemicals of host plants to lure insects and protect plants. Background technique [0002] beet armyworm Spodoptera exigua (Hübner) belongs to Lepidoptera and Noctuidae. It is a worldwide stubborn pest that can cause serious damage to more than 180 kinds of plants in 16 families. It is a typical omnivorous insect. It is perennial under the production conditions of various crop greenhouses Large-scale outbreaks have brought serious losses to agricultural production (Wu Shichang et al., Journal of Plant Protection, 1995, 22(1): 95–96; Luo Lizhi et al., Plant Protection, 2000, 26(3): 37–39). Especially in the production process of Chinese rose greenhouses, the beet armyworm is very serious. At present, chemical pesticides, such as spinosad, chlorfenapyr, methomyl, and cypermethrin, are mainly used for control. But on the one hand, beet armyworm has strong resistance to pesticides, and the resistance occu...
