The domestic fire monitoring system comprises smoke sensors, infrared detection instruments, a controller and a mobile fire extinguisher, wherein each room of the house is provided with one of the smoke sensors and one of the infrared detection instruments, the mobile fire extinguisher includes an electrically-controlled trolley and a fire extinguisher arranged on the electrically-controlled trolley in a rotated manner, the electrically-controlled trolley is provided with a first driving mechanism for controlling the fire extinguisher to rotate leftwards and rightwards as well as a second driving mechanism for controlling a sprayer of the fire extinguisher to rotate upwards and downwards, each infrared detection instrument is arranged on a rotary base, and each rotary base is provided with a third driving mechanism for driving the corresponding infrared detection instrument to rotate. The fire monitoring and extinguishing method provided by the invention adopts the domestic fire monitoring system. The fire monitoring system can monitor a fire occurrence point at the beginning of a fire, can control the fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire occurrence point, can avoid the occurrence of significant danger, and provides guarantee for home security.
