Abstract

The invention discloses a video sharing method and system in a cloud storage system based on source tracing information. A system client collects video source tracing information, and uploads a shared video and related video source tracing information. A server builds a source tracing map according to the video source tracing information uploaded by the client. A cloud storage system server receives a video downloading request, and then searches a start video of the requested video in the source tracing map. If the start video is found in the cloud storage system, a path with the lowest cost from the start video and the requested video is selected according to a BFS (breadth-first search) algorithm, and the requested video is generated again according to the path and is transmitted to the client. The cloud storage system takes the access heat value, the storage cost and the new generation cost of the video as the basis of video compression. The method makes the most of the cloud computing capability to reduce the space expenditure of video storage.
