Problems solved by technology

The front trigger has the disadvantage that when dropped the front trigger can trigger accidentally
However, this will greatly increase the complexity of using the device, and some users may abandon the device due to its inflexibility
Also, there is always a risk of damaging the needle if the device is dropped

Embodiment Construction

[0052] In the context of this disclosure, it may be convenient to define in the figures that the term "distal" refers to the end of the injection device, usually with the injection needle, while the term "proximal" refers to the injection device pointed away from the injection needle. the opposite end. The shown figures are schematic representations, for which reason the configuration of the different structures and the associated dimensions are intended for illustrative purposes only.

[0053] figure 1 A first embodiment of a medical injection device 100 is shown for injecting a predetermined amount of liquid medicament from a grip medicament reservoir 200 through an injection needle 250 . The injection device 100 comprises a dose ejection mechanism for ejecting a dose from the medicament reservoir. figure 1 The depicted embodiment shown is provided as an autoinjector wherein energy is stored in a prestressed spring wherein the needle shield is operated to activate the devi...

Abstract

The present invention relates to a medicament injection device (100) that comprises a housing (110, 120) and an actuator (400, 500) configured for expelling medicament from a held reservoir (200) through an injection needle (250). A needle shield (150) is movable from a distal position through an intermediary position and further proximally to activate dose expelling. A carrier (300) movable within the housing (110, 120) holds the injection needle (250). A detent mechanism couples carrier (300) with the needle shield (150) as the needle shield (150) moves from the distal to the intermediary position. When the needle shield is moved further proximally the detent mechanism decouples the carrier (300) from the needle shield (150). A carrier spring device (680) is arranged between the housing (110, 120) and the carrier (300). The injection device (100) provides increased safety against potential damage to the injection needle (150) in case the injection device (100) is dropped on a hard surface.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an injection device for injecting one or more doses of a liquid medicament. The invention relates in particular to an injection device for injecting a medicament from a gripped medicament reservoir by means of an injection needle and improvements to the safety of the injection device during handling and transport. Background technique [0002] For some diseases, the patient must inject the medicament on a regular basis, such as once a week, once a day, or even multiple times a day. In order to help patients overcome their fear of needles, fully automatic injection devices have been developed to make the use of the injection device as simple as possible. Such autoinjectors are generally designed such that the user need only position the injection device over the injection site and activate the device. Such activation causes the device to insert a needle into the skin and expel a dose of medicament. After the dose has ...
