The method comprises: establishing an electrical connection between a master and a slave; obtaining configuration parameters of a communication serial port of the master, and performing parameter configuration to a communication serial port of the slave according to the configuration parameters; sending first data to the slave by the master, and after the first data is received by the slave, delaying a first preset time and returning a response to the master; and if the response returned from the slave is received by the master within a second preset time, sending second data to the slave after the first preset time is delayed, wherein the second preset time is greater than the first preset time. According to the time-sharing serial communication method and system, serial communication is not affected by the number of transmitted bytes, so as to avoid the problem in the prior art of communication conflict between sending-receiving and resending that easily occurs when the number of the transmitted bytes is large, thereby greatly reducing communication error rate.
