Abstract

The invention belongs to the technical field of cultivation of melons and particularly relates to a seedless watermelon pollination method which includes the following steps: (1) selecting wild watermelon as a grafting stock and seedless watermelon as a grafting scion; (2) among the grafted seedlings, retaining one wild watermelon vine and one seedless watermelon vine in one grafted seedling plant; (3) with an insect vector, collecting pollen of the wild watermelon and pollinating the pollen to the seedless watermelon in the same plant; (4) when the seedless watermelon on the grafted seedling plant is fruited after pollination, selecting 2-3 fruits on one plant, retaining the selected fruits and picking-off all fruits of the wild watermelon; and (5) after watermelon fixation, topping the vines of both of the seedless watermelon and the wild watermelon, wherein other cultivation technologies are same as common cultivation technologies. The seedless watermelon natural pollination and fruit-setting method can completely replace a conventional artificial pollination method, thereby reducing labor investment and reducing cost, and also is high in fruit setting rate, is strong in anti-aging capability of the plants, is increased in weight of single fruit, is increased in yield and is excellent in quality of the fruits.
