Embodiments of the invention provide a data replication method and a storage system. The method is applied to a storage system comprising at least a first storage device and a second storage device. In the method, a first storage system determines replication information used for indicating the data that the first storage system is required to replicate in the current task to a second data storage system; the first storage system, based on the replication information, determines first sub replication information and second sub replication information; the first storage device replicates the data that are replicated by the first storage device to the second storage system to the second storage system according to the first sub replication information; and the second storage device replicates the data replicated by the second data storage device to the second storage system to the second storage system according to the second sub replication information. The data replication method can improve the replication efficiency between the first storage system and the second storage system.
