The method for selecting the network frequency band comprises the steps that a connection request of the terminal device is received, and the MAC address of the terminal device is carried by the connection request; according to network frequency band selection information of the terminal device, one network frequency band is selected for the terminal device from at least one network frequency band; the terminal device has access to the wireless network through the selected network frequency. The connection request of the terminal device contains the MAC address of the terminal, the network frequency band is selected for the terminal device according to the connection request containing the MAC address of the terminal device, and therefore the terminal device can have access to the wireless network through selecting the network frequency band with a better signal intensity. In this way, the network frequency band with severe signal interference is avoided and the terminal device can have access to the wireless network more efficiently and more rapidly.
