The invention discloses a real-time data pushing method for an SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) system, which comprises the following steps that: a client parses data information points required to be displayed of a monitoring picture and sends a picture data request to a server; the server queries whether the monitoring picture is opened or not through a picture storage structure set and processes the picture data request according to the open condition of the monitoring picture; the client data pushing thread acquires variation data from the picture storage structure after receiving a variation data pushing notification, then pushes the data to the client, and waits for a variation data pushing notification again; and the client refreshes corresponding data points according to index sequence numbers of the data points after receiving the data pushed by the server. The real-time data pushing method disclosed by the invention can substantially reduce the data transmission amount of the client and the server, the generated network load is low, and the refresh efficiency of the client is relatively high.
